The OCRN Community Research Incubator Fund

Launched on 8 October 2026, the OCRN Community Research Incubator Fund supports community-led research through funding opportunities and partnership development. The Incubator Fund helps community groups and community researchers develop projects that address issues important to Oxfordshire communities, aiming to reduce inequalities and improve well-being. The call for proposals is open until 6 November 2026.

The Incubator Fund is a pilot programme offering grants of up to £2,500 to support community-led research projects that address local inequalities and wellbeing. The total fund of £25,000 is being provided by Oxfordshire County Council. The fund aims to make research more accessible to grassroots organisations and community groups, with a simple application process and support available for applicants.

To apply for the fund, please download the ‘Application for funding’ below. The ‘funding terms of reference can also be downloaded here too.

If you are interested in applying for funding, please also send an email to the researchteam@oxfordshire.gov.uk with the subject: OCRN Community Research Incubator Fund Mailing list. This is because we will be sending further information about online drop-in sessions for peer support, an example application, as well as other supporting documents to those of you who are interested in applying. If you would like to provide peer support to community researchers as they prepare their application, please also let us know.
